Atina is one of only two larger manufacturers of Natural and Organic Alpha-Bisabolol in the world and has 18 years of experience as a leading manufacturer of innovative cosmetic ingredients obtained from the biodiversity of Latin American tropical biomes. Over this span of time, we have served more than 130 different clients in Latin America, Europe, US and Asia selling more than 35 innovative and sustainably sourced active ingredients. Our approach to sustainable sourcing of raw materials guarantees the reliability of our final products and establishes fair trade conditions for all parties involved in the process.

Today, most of our production is exported to the US, Europe and Asia. We work across the globe in partnership with local distributors. We currently have a portfolio of 20 products which are available for direct distribution. We also have developed products in partnership with or for selected clients, which we manufacture and supply with exclusivity.

We are a diverse group of chemist and pharmacists, environmental professionals, production and maintenance professionals, field workers, admin and sales people that, together, dare to find potential for cosmetic performance ingredients in the vast Brazilian biodiversity landscape, develop and manage sustainable supply chains and production routes and finally market it to a global market. You’ll find our team across Brazil, from Sao Paulo, to Minas Gerais, to remote regions where we source natural materials.

Atina’s Production Infrastructure

Atina’s factory brings together the best in equipment for extracting, purifying and analyzing plant extracts and essential oils, and is staffed by professionals who combine knowledge, rigor and creativity. It has an ANVISA-certified plant for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and another plant for the manufacture of plant extracts, both located in the Pouso Alegre Industrial District, in the state of Minas Gerais. Based on a privileged location, Atina has access to several motorways and airports to facilitate the export process.

• Ensure compliance with legal requirements for access to biodiversity, good environmental production practices and fair trade through environmental management processes, ethical and sustainable sourcing of plant raw materials, especially those from Brazilian biodiversity;

• Ensuring a vision that is constantly challenged, emphasizing technological updating and management focused on the high performance of people and processes, as well as greater integration between quality and other areas of the business.

In addition to ANVISA’s Operating Authorisation (AFE) for manufacturing, extraction, export, storage, distribution and shipping, Atina’s production facilities are audited annually by several renowned cosmetics brands, as well as by the following certification systems:

• Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices and Halal requirements from the time the raw materials are obtained, to storage, production and dispatch of the product to the customer;

• Ensuring good working conditions, free from any form of discrimination, harassment or exploitation of adult or child labour, as well as respecting the tenets of the Islamic religion;

• Ensure continuous training and improvement involving HALAL requirements;

• Ensure the monitoring and continuous improvement of the Halal quality management system and internal processes.
